Following the successful “Nature’s Playground” event last year, Kiehl’s doubles down as the first brand to build Hong Kong’s first hanging apothecary-cum-greenhouse at the Ocean Terminal Deck with 360-degree panorama of Victoria Harbour. Entitled “Kiehl’s Made Better Apothecary”, the eco-charity initiative realizes the Made Better concept on multiple fronts from formula development to packaging, and from manufacturing to recycling as part of our effort to care for and give back to the community. The campaign engages the public in environmental protection in a fun way with a view to raising HK$500,000 in support of EcoDrive Hong Kong’s single-use plastic reduction outreach program, which echoes with Kiehl’s green commitment of using post-consumer recycled materials to manufacture plastic and glass bottles and paper boxes, including bottles for Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner, as part of its effort to achieve the goal of including 30% post-consumer recycled materials in its saleable product packaging by 2020.
The “Kiehl’s Made Better Apothecary” is organized in fiver sectors – “Made Better Apothecary”, “Sky Greenhouse”, “Planting Workshop”, “Beauty Products Recycling Box” and “Giant Calendula Dummy Photo Zone”.
The brand wants everyone to take a break from the daily grind at “Kiehl’s Made Better Apothecary” and immerse themselves in the healing magic conjured by Kiehl’s natural ingredients in the Greenhouse. Inspiring public participation in recycling, the Planting Workshop* invites participants to decorate Kiehl’s recycled containers with succulents and flowers. “Beauty Products Recycling Box” collects empty plastic and glass bottles of Kiehl’s skincare products marked with a recycling symbol for regeneration. For every empty bottle recycled, donors will receive one product sample and Kiehl’s will donate HK$10 to EcoDrive Hong Kong. Join us and be part of a green-conscious community.
