WWF-Hong Kong presents the “Tales of the Ocean” exhibition from 20 October to 8 November 2020 at Gallery by the Harbour. Home to a rich variety of marine species, our oceans are nature’s gift to all. But human activity is threatening this precious habitat along with the future survival of species.
The exhibition highlights the importance of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in safeguarding our ocean habitat and the creatures living in it. WWF-Hong Kong has invited three local artists, Dr. Kacey Wong, Ant Ngai and Sushan Chan, share their perspectives on how human activity is impacting our marine environment, and how we can be part of the solution. Hear talks from WWF experts and join fun and informative ocean workshops to learn about the importance of our marine ecosystem. Don’t miss this unique exhibition and together, let’s help our oceans!
“Tales of the Ocean” exhibition is an extension of the collaboration between the Wharf Art Competition and WWF-Hong Kong. The aim of the Competition this year seeks to encourage students to step out of their classrooms, rethink the linkage between people and nature, and enhance their passion and awareness to the environment and act on them.
Winning entrants are invited to join an eco-art visit at WWF-Hong Kong’s Visitor Centres to better understand the local marine world and the hidden miracles living in it, and be artistically inspired by it. This year’s Competition will not only accept entries of Painting, but also entries of Digital Graphics to offer students the chance to create with different mediums.
