This creative session between HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE and designer/artist, Ronan Bouroullec, is a project where the brand’s design team engages in working with his drawings, not just as a portfolio of work to appreciate as art, but more so as an extensive body of diverse materials to dive into and play freely with.
Bouroullec’s clear understanding of the brand’s design approach and creative process, paired with many meaningful exchanges with him, have inspired this collection.
It was an extraordinary experience to work with the design team, where I discovered many things over the course of the creative session about what my work has in common and in contrast with their clothing design. And it is the synergy as well as the distance between us that have made this project both inspiring and rewarding.
