Tom Lee Music, in collaboration with several renowned musicians and students, held two concerts titled “Harbour Music Harmonies” in Harbour City. Entering Harbour City felt like stepping into a Christmas music box, enhanced by a stunning Christmas tree installation and enchanting melodies. This immersive experience provided the audience with a delightful feast for both the ears and the eyes, officially kicking off the Christmas festivities!
The first concert kicked off with an enthusiastic performance by the clarinet ensemble Clarisma, showcasing several famous classical pieces. Musician Mr. Ricky Wong specially rearranged multiple pieces for the audience at Harbour City, leading them through a musical journey that combines modern jazz with neoclassical influences.
Following that, two Master Tutors from Tom Lee Music Academy, Ms. Dan Lee and Mr. Ricky Tsang, collaborated to perform a series of Christmas songs. Ms. Dan Lee also showcased several of her original compositions, adding a warm festive atmosphere to the event.In addition to the impressive performances by the Master Tutors, several students and teachers from Tom Lee Music also shared their musical talents that day. Members of the Tom Lee Children’s Choir sang a selection of Christmas songs, giving the audience a delightful preview of the festive season.
The other ” Harbour Music Harmonies ” concert was equally captivating, featuring an outstanding four-hand piano performance by Dr. Poon, a lecturer from the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Music Department, alongside Ms. Lea Chan. Additionally, members of the chamber music group from the same department formed various ensembles to perform both wind and piano compositions, impressing the audience with the vibrant atmosphere created by their live performances!
The students from YAMAHA Music Program of Tom Lee Music Academy also showcased impressive talent, confidently demonstrating their singing skills accompanied by their classmates. The older students even re-arranged Christmas songs, offering a unique perspective on the festive spirit that brought smiles to the faces of every audience member.
Curtis Ho, who has performed as a guest pianist at the Hong Kong Film Awards, also shared his musical journey, expressing his emotions through music. Meanwhile, composer and soprano Ms. Lora Chow captivated the audience with several of her original songs, her unique voice awakening a sense of freshness and excitement in everyone present.
At the concert, the students and tutors presented a diverse selection of pieces for the audience, creating a warm atmosphere for everyone to celebrate Christmas with friends and family in this “Christmas music box.” Together, they enjoyed two heartwarming weekends filled with beautiful melodies.
