Canada Goose unveils the launch of a unique and innovative collaboration alongside designer Feng Chen Wang and contemporary artist Xu Zhen. The 12-piece lifestyle collection features jackets, knitwear, and accessories, as well as a skirt, Pants, and footwear.
Drawing upon Canada Goose’s signature performance luxury apparel, the partnership fuses Feng Chen Wang’s future-modern aesthetic and penchant for multidimensional design with Xu Zhen’s ‘Under Heaven’ conceptual art series, which has been digitally printed across a selection of the collaboration.
The collection highlights seasonal transitions within a year while aiming to celebrate and encourage expression and individuality through personal style, with many pieces offering deconstructable elements for versatile styling and multiple looks. The women’s Sence Blazer, which is made with Recycled Dura-Force – a durable windproof fabric, can be worn as a blazer or a vest and includes the option of a removable belt with a detachable pouch.
Likewise, the Roebuck Parka is made with Recycled Organic Arctic Tech – an ultra-durable and water repellent fabric designed to withstand extreme conditions and cold climates. Designed to be worn either as a parka or a vest, the parka’s unique details include a drawcord at the waist and side seam zippers for extra adaptability, while the vest portion features a unique asymmetrical hem.
Made with Recycled Feather-Light Ripstop, the Langham Down Jacket and the Mercer Down Jacket feature deconstructable styling same for the Langham, as well as a cropped jacket for the Mercer.
With a dramatic high collar, removable belt and back vent for a flattering silhouette, the Carnaby Trench is made with soft brush cotton fabric for a natural and luxurious look and feel. The collection also includes the Seaton Sweater, a corset style sweater with a cropped silhouette and the HyBridge Jacket for Feng Chen Wang with cashmere wool blend and Canada Goose’s signature down insulation.
The Bedford Skirt combines denim and an added layer of durable, ripstop fabric crossing in the front and is Canada Goose’s first skirt design within a collaboration. The Canal Pants are made of soft, brushed cotton fabric in a classic jogger silhouette. The lifestyle collaboration also includes another first for Canada Goose, with a spin on the Journey Boots reimagined by Feng Chen Wang with denim and contrasting color on the hardware and featured a removable upper collar hitting around the mid-calf. Capping off the collection, the Arctic Cashmere Toque made of a cashmere and wool blend making it soft and warm.
Shot in Toronto, Canada, by William Ukoh and styled by Anders Sølvsten Thomsen, who was responsible for styling the Feng Chen Wang Fall/Winter show at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. Additionally, the brand campaign for this collaboration showcases the hero looks in an environment inspired by Xu Zhen’s “Under Heaven” artwork series.
The concept behind “Under Heaven” presents a visual texture to stimulate appetite with a palette of charming and rich colors. The patterns are reminiscent of colorful cake piping designs and reflect the Chinese trend of global enjoyment.
