Dior is inaugurating a series of pop-up stores in several cities around the world to unveil the Fall 2021 men’s collection designed by Kim Jones in collaboration with Kenny Scharf.*
Paying ode to the American artist’s vibrant Pop aesthetic, these showcases revisit a universe informed by cartoons, Surrealism and science fiction. From Beijing to Vancouver by way of Hong Kong, characters from his works come to life in the form of spectacular sculptures, giant balloons and three-dimensional stickers, in a cosmic decor in perpetual movement, like an interstellar journey recalling the futuristic atmosphere of the runway presentation.
At the Harbour City pop-up, these lighthearted creatures dominate an immersive scenography featuring an interactive motion sensor screen.
Symbols of positive energy, jacquards and subtle seed-stitch embroideries created using ancestral Chinese savoir-faire transpose the artist’s motifs onto a selection of clothes and accessories such as the Saddle bag and the B23 sneakers. A jacket revisiting the essence of tailoring sports a moiré knot in back; that exceptional fabric also adorns a coat and bombers.
An invitation to take flight, and a hymn to the power of imagination that transcends frontiers.
The Harbour City pop-up store opens from April 30th to May 17th, 2021, and will feature ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessories.
Location: Atrium II, Gateway Arcade, Harbour City
Opening hours: 10am to 9pm
