Harbour City x LUCAS ZANOTTO Limited Edition Umbrella

Embrace the rain with smiles! Harbour City has partnered with acclaimed artists and designers to launch limited edition umbrellas over the past two decades, establishing a yearly highlight for collectors to anticipate. This year, Harbour City collaborates with the celebrated Italian artist LUCAS ZANOTTO to introduce heart-warming long umbrellas in childlike style and pastel colours. Brimming with his iconic big eyes and smiley faces from canopy to handle, the umbrellas are either in the soothing shades of ash pink or beige, both bringing a smile to everyone’s faces.

Italian artist LUCAS ZANOTTO presents his first large-scale art campaign in Hong Kong, “JOIN THE LOOP”, at Harbour City from now until 1 September. Not only does he bring his captivating looping animation to life, but he also hosts his first solo art exhibition in Hong Kong, presenting the adorable characters through multimedia. Following the great success, Harbour City once again joins forces with ZANOTTO to launch the limited edition umbrellas that are overflowing with smiles, exuding the sense of joy while showcasing the charm of his healing arts.

Masterful at crafting whimsical characters with simple shapes and colours, ZANOTTO creates a carefree atmosphere with the cheerful expressions of the signature big eyes and smiles, bringing a therapeutic feeling to people. This time, he pairs a rounded eye with an elongated eye and put them on four cashew-shaped faces, making the smiles blooming on the umbrella canopy. Playful and quirky, irregular yet in harmony.

The most eye-catching feature of the umbrella is undoubtedly the two pairs of 3D rounded eyes on the handle. Along with the “mouth” of the handle itself, each pair of eyes make a funny face: one pouts when the umbrella is hung, another one smiles while umbrella is put up. Just like ZANOTTO’s looping animation, things go up and down in a cycle, whether is it weather or emotion. He specially designed this little detail on the handle, wishing everyone to “grasp” the smile in their hands and have fun even in the rain!
