HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE presented their Fall/Winter 2024/25 collection “Immersed in the Wilds of Creativity”, at Palais de Tokyo during Paris Fashion Week, exploring the translation of creative material into clothing design, looking at the relationship between a concept and its actual realization.
Artist Ronan Bouroullec engaged with the design team working with his drawings, not just as a portfolio of work to appreciate as art, but more so as an extensive body of diverse materials to dive into and play freely with. Bouroullec’s clear understanding of the brand’s design approach and creative process, paired with many meaningful exchanges with him, has inspired this collection. Drawings are incorporated into clothing from drawing pleats to all-over pleats.
“It was an extraordinary experience to work with the design team, where I discovered many things over the course of the creative session about what my work has in common and in contrast with their clothing design. And it is the synergy as well as the distance between us that have made this project both inspiring and rewarding”, stated Bouroullec.
RB_EMBROIDERY SHIRT
The three shirts in the RB_EMBROIDERY SHIRT series are crafted from naturally textured fabric, embroidered with the “Stylo-Bille” artwork. Each style celebrates the intense and detailed colors and organic shapes of the original work. The embroidery includes threads that slightly extend beyond the outlines of the original drawings, emphasizing their dynamism.
