“Join the Loop @Harbour City” Summer Campaign

The summer of 2024 is dominated by the huge sports event! Fully supported by AIA Hong Kong, Harbour City joins hands with popular Italian artist Lucas Zanotto to present “Join the Loop @Harbour City” – introducing large-scale, whimsical installations that combines art and sports. From 19 July to 1 September 2024, Harbour City is transformed into an immersive, all-encompassing sports-themed playground. This unique event marks Zanotto’s largest and first art exhibition in Hong Kong, showcasing his signature whimsical art style characterized by minimalist designs and vibrant geometric shapes. Prepare to be enchanted as Zanotto’s beloved animated characters come to life in this playful sports ground.

The event features four sports-themed activity areas and two cutie photo spots, that visitors can spend a whole day to enjoy. Get your JOIN THE LOOP Activity Card” at a charitable price of HK$80 and collect stamps throughout the activities to get exclusive prizes.

Zanotto will also host his first multimedia solo exhibition in Hong Kong “Looping in Hong Kong” at Gallery by the Harbour. The exhibition will showcase over 20 artworks, including sculptures, prints, and digital creations, with a special highlight on the ten new acrylic paintings. Visitors can also bring home a piece of Zanotto’s cheerful art through his adorable merchandise, such as T-shirts, scented candles, posters, and postcards.

The Moving Forward Sports Ground features two cute photo spots and three sports-themed activity areas. Little ones get ready to let loose in the imaginative play spaces packed with all sorts of fun sensory experiences, where they can dig into the sandpit, zoom around the tricycle track, and captain their own remote control canoe. This themed Sports Ground is the perfect spot for kids to burn off energy in Summer and revel in the joy of sports and games.

From afar, you can already catch sight of the iconic big-eyed character designed by Zanotto, magnificently enlarged to a towering height of 5 meters by Harbour City! The character dashes towards the finish line, inviting you to join him on a joyful journey into the sports field, where happiness awaits at every turn!

Photo Spot 2 – Delight in the Dreamy Bubble Wonderland
Located at the heart of the Sports Ground, Zanotto’s beloved character blows out strings of dazzling bubbles regularly from 12 pm to 8pm. The entire area will be infused with bubbles and joyful energy, which is perfect to snap a photo with your beloved one.

Sports-themed Activity Area 1 — Tricycle Journey into Zanotto’s Animated World
A circular bike track is at the entrance of the sports ground. Reminiscent of Zanotto’s captivating animations, children can pedal their tricycles along the path into Zanotto’s dreamy world. The cheerful big-eyed character also stands nearby, reminding everyone to warm up and stretch before and after exercising.

Sports-themed Activity Area 2 – Sand Play in an Expansive 8-meter Sandpit
An expansive 8-meter sandpit steals the spotlight at the Sports Ground, providing a haven for young ones to indulge in the joys of sand play. With an assortment of sand tools and balls, children can unleash their creativity as they build sandcastles and engage in creative play. An adorable big-eyed character sits nestled within the sandpit, adding to the whimsy of the area.

Sports-themed Activity Area 3 — Rocking Remote Control Canoe Amidst Thrilling Waves
A 5-meter diameter fountain pool is set near to the Main Entrance of Ocean Terminal, where kids will love playing with the remote control canoes. Numerous participants can engage in thrilling speed competitions with their remote-controlled canoes at the same time. The central statue of Zanotto’s big-eyed character adds a touch of whimsy to the pool, creating waves in the pool to heighten the excitement of the activity.

Pool of Mixed Feeling: Dive into Zanotto’s joyful world and unleash kid’s energy in the 4.5-meter bouncing pool

As you enter the Atrium of Ocean Terminal, your attention will be immediately drawn to the Sports-themed Activity Area 4, “Pool of Mixed Feeling”, reminiscent of a mini swimming pool. This 4.5-meter diameter bouncing pool is equipped with a soft, cushioned bottom and filled with Zanotto’s delightful big-eyed and smiling snow beans, beckoning you to jump in and experience the fun. Children can even arrange these snow beans to create playful expressions!

Children can also take selfies with these cute plushies, immersing themselves in the fun world of Zanotto. Adding to the excitement, the venue showcases Zanotto’s mesmerizing looping animations on a massive 200-inch LED screen, infusing the entire space with a whimsical and playful atmosphere!

Happy Flipping Boxing Ring: Over 30 giant characters gather at Ocean Terminal Deck, cheering on the adorable boxing match

Zanotto’s playful characters battle it out in an adorable boxing match at Ocean Terminal Deck, alongside the stunning Victoria Harbour View. The characters engage in combat on a lavender-coloured ring, standing tall at an impressive 2 meters. Surrounding the ring, you’ll find another 30 of Zanotto’s characters, swaying in the breeze, providing enthusiastic support to the fighters. These inflatable tumblers never lose their smile, no matter how strong the wind is or how pouring the rain may be, as they stand firmly at the spot.

Join in the excitement and practice boxing with Zanotto’s characters, allowing yourself to release any built-up negativity and absorb their contagious positive energy.

This whimsical photo spot, standing tall at 2 meters, adds a playful touch to the bustling street, inviting passersby to take pictures with him. This endearing character radiates positive energy, infusing the surroundings with a delightful atmosphere that uplifts all who come across them.
