Journeying back to the glitz and glamor of 1950s Hollywood, amidst that golden era, every move of the stars in front and behind the screen radiated opulence and a gilded allure, setting off a symphony of camera shutters and dazzling flashes. From the evening gowns and sequins on the red carpet, to the rhinestones and feathers on stage, reminiscent of the enigmatic Ziggy Stardust, these elements etched an indelible mark in the annals of fashion lore. Galas and grand occasions are not the only reasons to play dress-ups. Embrace the most mesmerizing glam with the bold spirit of a rockstar and a diva of your own.
In the fourth installment of WE LOVE STYLE, esteemed radio host Pitar Leung, with over 25 years of experience, shares his view on glam. He has hosted numerous award shows and events, embodying a keen fashion sense that has witnessed the rise and fall of countless trends. For Pitar, glam finds its pinnacle in the legendary David Bowie’s glam rock era. He proudly displays a Ziggy Stardust tattoo in homage to Bowie and boasts a collection of glamorous attire. Pitar’s fashion philosophy encourages seizing opportunities to wear what captivates you, embracing not just shimmering opulence but also the bold, rebellious spirit of rock ‘n’ roll inherent in true glam.
Aside from the seasoned pros of glam, we have also enlisted four new talents: models Kaluen (@2l.uen.0), Cherrie (@cherrr2_), Evelyn (@hiuchingg__), and Hei Hei (@pangwhei). The quartet has taken on the challenge of styling glam-themed outfits within a limited time frame at Harbour City’s select boutiques. Pitar will then provide commentary, offering a collective appreciation and a deeper dive into the origins and evolution of this fashionable trend.
