Harbour City proudly announces the grand opening of the “Spectrum of Heroes” Pat Lee Comic Art Exhibition today, celebrating the remarkable career of North American comic book artist Pat Lee, who served as a main comic artist for both Marvel and DC. During the opening event, Pat captivated the audience with a 30-minute live drawing session, creating a stunning piece “Defragment” that allowed everyone to witness his artistic journey firsthand. This extraordinary exhibition will be on display at the Gallery by the Harbour from 20 March to 21 April 2025.
The exhibition proudly features a stunning collection of 20 original published comic art pieces by the renowned artist Pat Lee, spanning from 1995 to the present. It highlights Pat’s significant contributions to beloved franchises such as Marvel and DC Comics, with iconic titles including BATMAN: Journey Into Knight, BATMAN/SUPERMAN, The Invincible Iron Man, and Marvel Knights: Spider-Man. Each piece is not only incredibly rare but also exemplifies Pat’s exquisite and delicate brushwork, showcasing his extraordinary talent for bringing characters and stories to life with stunning detail. This carefully curated selection reflects Pat’s artistic evolution over the years, inviting fans and art enthusiasts alike to delve into the rich tapestry of his creativity.
Pat Lee and his brother Roger Lee have teamed up to create a compelling image that beautifully merges Pat’s distinctive comic book artistry with Roger’s insightful quote. Renowned for crafting inspirational messages, Roger empowers individuals to strive for their best selves. The striking black and white ink artwork depicts a superhero breaking free from shackles and poised for action, accompanied by the quote, “For every storm that passes, a stronger you is born.” This powerful collaboration encourages viewers to tap into their authentic inner strength, inspiring them to overcome life’s challenges and emerge resilient.
In addition to showcasing original comic art, the exhibition features an engaging reading corner, inviting visitors to fully immerse themselves in the world of Pat Lee’s comic books. This corner includes a carefully curated selection of 12 handpicked comic books, each chosen to highlight Pat’s stunning artwork and the compelling stories behind his iconic characters.
Moreover, the exhibition will showcase an even broader array of comic books, offering visitors an exciting glimpse into Pat Lee’s diverse body of work. Among these, some featured comic books will boast special chrome reflective covers, adding a striking visual element to the display. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to appreciate the reflections of the final product, illustrating how Pat’s original artwork translates into published form.
A 2007 Collector’s Edition Monopoly Board Game featuring Pat’s Transformers comic illustrations is on display, highlighting the connection between gaming and comic art. The board game illustrates how comic art enriches popular culture. Additionally, visitors can check out vintage Transformers reissued TAKARA toys from 2002, which come with packaging art illustrated by Pat. This collection showcases his artistic skills and demonstrates his impact in both the comic and toy industries.
Visitors can also view an art print of Pat’s new comic series titled 7th BLADE, which he is currently developing in collaboration with the creative studio Secret Lab. This exciting new project promises to blend dynamic storytelling with Pat’s signature artistic style, offering fans a fresh perspective on his work.
