Romantic affair
Bask in the aroma of romance inspired by the city of love. Yves Saint Laur Beauté’s Mon Paris Eau de Toilette Lumière unfolds the Parisian summer love story and transforms that blissful kiss at the top of the Eiffel Tower into light lotus and lemon scent before the floral accords of Turkish rose, datura, and jasmine chime in. The softer touch is then anchored by the base notes of white musk and patchouli to compose the passionate love story.
Aquatic allure
Anyone with a perfume collection on the vanity would instantly recognize the familiar NARCISO cube. Joining the family this year is the Narciso Eau de Parfum Cristal Narciso Rodriguez, housed inside the collection’s signature silhouette in a shiny pink tinted bottle with a contrasting matte pink cap.
The perfume opens with an endearing sweetness of the bergamot albeit with the floral scents of freesia and orange blossom. A lush bouquet of white flower, rose, and jasmine from the heart notes then transports one to the lush garden encapsulated in this intense yet bright scent potion.
Floral profusion
Take a stroll at Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria scented summer garden. The newest member of the family – Nerolia Vetiver forms a warm halo of reinvigorating vetiver that shines on the soft petals of blooming neroli. The fragrance gently unfurls to the freshness of basil before giving it time to mellow into swirls of delicious fig accord.
The Aqua Allegoria collection also pays homage to the wonders of nature, with the fragrances using up to 95% ingredients of natural origin. Each of the scents is housed in a refillable bottle made from recycled glass, to extend the life cycle of the iconic bee bottle for the devotees of the range.
Sun-kissed dew
Wake up to the dewdrops on the flourishing petals of magnolia. Issey Miyake’s L’Eau d’Issey Eau & Magnolia offers an olfactory palette that begins with water, the source of life. The new composition – signed by perfumer Daphné Bugey, reimagines the original L’Eau d’Issey by infusing such delicate floral notes as rose and magnolia, while retaining the water notes at its core.
The concoction is then enveloped by the zesty touch from bergamot to enrich the sensuous blend captured by the first rays of morning sun.
Acqua di Parma Magnolia Infinita from Sun Collection
Acqua di Parma presents a new olfactory profile within the Signatures of the Sun collection, Magnolia Infinita. A majestic corolla for a burst of pure and scented flowers. Magnolia: a sumptuous flower with velveted petals that expand, giving life to infinite new perfume nuances that Acqua di Parma reveals with its over a century old art of perfumery.
At the beginning there is the bergamot from Calabria, then orange and lemon as bright rays of sun amplify the clear and transparent light of the potent magnolia, that mirrors the freshness of the citrus fruits to warm you up gradually. A light that becomes progressively more intense in the soft and enveloping centre where the magnolia meets the sambac jasmine, rose and ylang-ylang. Lastly come the notes of patchouli and musk that envelop you in a sensual harmony, allowing the precious essences to continue to reveal infinite nuances without ever leaving, and fascinating you in a plethora of different ways.
With a bevy of new and classic scents to choose from, lucky for us that with a little bit of fragrance layering tips and tricks, creating a unique blend of our olfactory memories of the summer is a breeze.
