Popular Vietnamese restaurant XUÂN has opened the first location in Kowloon at Tsim Sha Tsui’s prestigious Gateway Arcade, Harbour City. The new opening brings the celebrated flavours of XUÂN’s contemporary Vietnamese menu to the other side of the harbour, this time with an ocean-facing view and bright, airy interiors.
Fans of the brand will be pleased to find that the jaw-dropping Signature Beef Pho with optional add-ons like Roasted Beef Bone Marrow or a Fresh Farm Egg are available at the spacious new Tsim Sha Tsui location. Another signature, the Banh Khot, mini savoury pancakes made with sea urchin, quail egg, coconut milk and scallion oil, transports guests straight to the streets of Hanoi.
Guests are sure to enjoy hearty plates like the Grilled Three Yellow Chicken which is also a fantastic dine-at-home option for those seeking next-level takeaway, and Crispy Suckling Pig, served with roasted pineapple and onion salsa.
Not to be missed is the Bun Bo Hue. Hailing from the former royal city of Hue in Central Vietnam, this satisfying and fiery dish flawlessly balances spice, salt and umami. Rich and flavourful lemongrass-infused, spicy broth, slippery noodles, tender beef shin, fatty pork belly, homemade meatballs and fresh herbs are combined to create this underappreciated dish which is perfect to enjoy in cooler months.
The tomato-based Bun Uni is a luxurious bowl of rice vermicelli topped with velvety sea urchin, Vietnamese sausage, cherry tomatoes, quail egg, farm egg, homemade 12-hour fish broth and piquant pickled garlic.
New noodles dishes include the perfectly-chewy Wok-fried Glass Noodles with golden-fried soft shell crab in a house-made sauce, or flavourful XUÂN Prawn Noodles featuring extra-large tiger prawns, garlic butter and crispy garlic. Those after a hearty rice dish can look no further than the Com Ga Hoi An Chicken Rice featuring hand-pulled three yellow chicken, fried Hokkaido egg, vibrant turmeric garlicky chicken rice, and pickled papaya and carrot, perfectly balancing the sweet and sour to the salty components and topped with spiced ginger Nước Mắm.
Select dishes are also available to enjoy in XUÂN’s excellent-value Lunch Set, served from 11:00 am to 3:00pm on weekdays.
XUÂN Gateway’s drinks list offers a range of delicious non-alcoholic refreshments, alongside a neat menu of Vietnamese craft beers and select wines.
